John Shewchuk is a Certified Consulting Meteorologist (CCM), who is board certified by the American Meteorological Society.  He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the US Air Force Weather Service after 22 years of global weather operations, and is a life-long student of meteorology since 1960.

John's weather career includes:

US Air Force "Forecaster of the Year Award" for a centralized facility. Former senior forecaster at the Joint Typhoon Warning Center, Guam.  Provided storm forecasts for over 100 tropical cyclones, which included many typhoons.  This included Super Typhoon Tip (1979), which was the earth's strongest and most massive tropical cyclone ever recorded.

US Air Force annual "Merewether Award" for scientific support to the USAF aerospace weather mission.

US Air Force annual "Grimes Award" for tactical weather support to the 2nd ID ground and air tactical forces in South Korea.

Provided USAF weather support to Operations Desert Storm & Shield, Operation Just Cause, Operation Restore Hope, the Vietnam War, and Air Force One.

Member of the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society.

Member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS).

Member of the CO2 Coalition.

Member of the Climate Intelligence Organization (CLINTEL).

Manager of the The Weather Club in The Villages, FL.
